Port Blair, Mar. 1: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 194passengers who arrived here yesterday, two positive cases have been detected. During RAT conducted on 28passengers bound for North & Middle Andaman at Ferrargunj, no positive case has been detected. At Mohanpura Bus Terminus, test was conducted on 35 passengers, no positive case has been detected.  At Phoenix Bay Jetty, 12 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected.

Port Blair, Feb. 28:  In the wake of Andaman & Nicobar Command's decision to shut down the flying operations at Port Blair airport for weekly four days w.e.f 01.03.2022 for a period of three months, the Union Home Secretary took a VC meeting today to discuss and find out solutions to ensure uninterrupted air-connectivity to A & N Islands.

The meeting was attended by the Defence Secretary, Govt. of India, the Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Sr. Officers of Ministry of Defence, Chief of Staff, A & N Command, Member (Plg), Airports Authority of India and from the A&N Administration, the meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, Shri Jitendra Narain and Senior Officers of Civil Aviation Department.

Anchipaka and Team Inspect Facilities at Distribution Centre and Poll Collection Venue

Port Blair, Feb 28: The Office of the Director, Panchayat and Municipal Elections is geared up for the forthcoming General Elections to the Gram Panchayats, Panchayat Samiti, Zilla Parishad and Port Blair Municipal Council.

Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS (Director, Panchayat and Municipal Elections) along with Shri. Ankit Chauhan, IPS, Superintendent of Police (South Andaman District) and other officials inspected the proposed distribution centre at Netaji Stadium and directed APWD authorities to construct proper shelters and shades for Polling Officials who shall assemble for collection of polling materials. He directed the Municipal Authorities for arrangements of drinking water facilities, proper sanitation facilities etc. on the day of distribution of polling materials.

Port Blair, Feb 28: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to issue necessary directions to concerned departments to schedule a ship for Campbell Bay via Hutbay at least 3 days before of Elections, so that every individual who are willing to cast their votes are able to reach their respective Island and exercise their franchise.
