Port Blair, Sept. 5: The general public and consumers have been informed that the Hon’ble JERC, in its Tariff Order dated June 13, 2024, has introduced a separate category ‘Domestic (Bed & Breakfast)’ for establishments registered under the Bed & Breakfast category. The Hon’ble JERC has further directed in Tariff Order FY 2024-25 ‘In case Domestic (Bed & Breakfast), having higher tariff, uses are found in a premise having Domestic connection, such connection shall be treated as un-authorized under section 126 of the Electricity Act, 2003 as such premises should have higher tariff i.e. Domestic (Bed & Breakfast Tariff)’.

Port Blair, Sept. 5: In a resolute effort to assert the integrity of public lands, the District Administration of South Andaman conducted eviction drive at Shore Point village.

This operation successfully dismantled unauthorized encroachments, which had unlawfully occupied 0.10 hectares of prime government land. The encroachment, comprising a reinforced railing structure with RCC pillars which was removed with immediate effect, restoring the land to its rightful custodianship.

Port Blair, Sept. 5: The Andaman and Nicobar Idol Immersion Rules 2018 were published in the Andaman and Nicobar Gazette No. 23 dated 05-03-2018 in compliance of Hon’ble National Green Tribunal order dated 06-10-2017 in O.A 51/2016/EZ. The Rules framed covers the general guidelines idol making, ban on use of synthetic colors, height of super structures and idols. In this connection, all the Idol makers and Puja Committees have been directed to follow the guidelines for idol immersion as mentioned below:
