Port Blair, Aug. 31: The general public have been informed that, to manage the shortfall of power generation through available power, ongoing load shedding will be continued in Port Blair and South Andaman area during evening peak hours from 1630 hrs to 0100 hrs for one and half hour, if required, on daily basis as per schedule given below.

The below mentioned load shedding schedule is purely tentative and the duration & timing may vary depending on available power generation and other technical reasons. The schedule will be enforced for next 15 days or till further intimation.

Port Blair, Aug. 31: Heavy rain (07-11 cm) and thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind (speed 30-40 kmph) is likely to occur at one or two places over A & N Islands on Sept. 1&2. Heavy to very heavy rain (07-11 cm) is also likely to occur at one or two places over A & N Islands on Sept. 3 &4.

Port Blair, Aug 30: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to depute a dedicated team to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the losses sustained by the villagers and farmers in the Diglipur region as a result of flash flood that unfolded on August 29, 2023 and to pay suitable compensation to affected villagers of Diglipur region.

Power supply will remain suspended on Sept. 1, 2023 from 8 am to 5 pm in connection with cutting of trees by BSI at Nayasahar. The areas to be affected are Outer Feeder: Sippighat, Nayasahar & Guptapara.

The CCTNS is a flagship project of MHA and is being regularly monitored by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India & MHA through PRAGATI Dashboard on monthly basis.
