Port Blair, Aug. 23: The inaugural function on the occasion of commencement of Live Streaming of Court Proceedings of the Circuit Bench of Calcutta High Court at Port Blair was held today. Hon'ble Chief Justice T. S. Sivagnanam, High Court, Calcutta inaugurated the Live Steaming of Court proceedings through virtual mode and His Lordship made the inaugural address on this momentous occasion. Hon'ble Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya, Judge, High Court, Calcutta and the Judge-in-Charge, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and the Hon'ble Justice Amrita Sinha, Judge, High Court, Calcutta presently holding the Circuit Bench at Port Blair addressed the audience on the occasion. Hon'ble Justice Krishna Rao, Judge, High Court, Calcutta and the Additional Judge-in-Charge, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and the Hon'ble Justice Ananya Bandyopadhyay, presently holding the Circuit Bench at Port Blair were also present on the occasion.

Port Blair, Aug 23: In a letter addressed to the Directorate of Education, A&N Administration, the Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President Mr. Rangalal Halder has requested on behalf of the concerned parents and students of the Senior Secondary Schools under Mayabunder Tehsil regarding the staffing requirements.

He said that the skills and methodologies required to teach the students from Class VI to VIII required qualified teaching staff. Appointing qualified Primary School Teachers (PST) and Graduate Trained Teachers (GTT) would greatly enhance the quality of education to the students.

Port Blair, Aug 23: The State President, National Students Union of India, Shri. M.A Sajid on Wednesday raised his strong objection over the plan of A&N Administration to establish the office of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Deemed University inside the campus of JNRM College

In a letter addressed to the Secretary (Education), Sajid said, “Through reliable sources we came to know that the A&N Administration is setting up a plan to utilize the new building of JNRM College for making office of the proposed Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Deemed University. We strongly oppose this kind of idea which will be a reason for hampering the educational facility of students studying in JNRM College”.
