Port Blair, Mar.2: In connection with the ensuing Panchayat & Municipal Elections-2022, the Office of the Director, Panchayat and Municipal Elections (DPME) today organised a training for the Returning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers, Master Trainers, counting supervisor and counting assistants on the counting procedures in the conference hall of DBRAIT. Shri Som Naidu, DANICS Officer (Retd.) as the resource person imparted training on the counting procedures of Ballot Vote and EVM.

Port Blair, March 2: Coast Guard District Headquarters at Diglipur conducted special ‘Community Interaction Programme (CIP)” as part of Andaman and Nicobar Commands’ Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme, for fishing community of Ganeshnagar on 27 Feb 22 in conjunction with Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, PMF, Forest and local bodies of Gram Panchayat (Ganeshnagar).

Port Blair, Mar. 2: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,07,756 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,190 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 8750.

Port Blair, March 2: The Coast Guard Component of Andaman and Nicobar Command conducted a blood donation camp under aegis of Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (CGWWA), Port Blair. The blood donation camp was organised on 28 Feb 22 by CG Dist HQ, in co-ordination with GB Pant hospital. The objective of the camp was to motivate people to donate blood voluntarily with the aim of saving precious lives of needy patients. The camp was inaugurated by IG Dinesh Rajaputhran, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (Andaman and Nicobar). As many as 62 volunteers donated blood during the camp.

Port Blair, Mar. 2: During RAT conducted on 15passengers bound for North & Middle Andaman at Ferrargunj, no positive case has been detected. At Mohanpura Bus Terminus, test was conducted on 31 passengers, no positive case has been detected.  At Phoenix Bay Jetty, 17 passengers were tested with RAT, no positive case has been detected. RT-PCR test was conducted on 14 crew members of MV Chouldari, 14 crew members of MV Rangat and 45 crew members of MV Kalighat, reports of which are awaited.  At Helipad, test was conducted on 9 passengers, no positive case has been detected.
