Port Blair, March 26: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Secretary (Civil Supply & Consumers Affairs) A&N Administration to issue necessary directives to the authorised LPG distributor to make immediate arrangements for supply and distribution of LPG cylinders at Little Andaman. There has been no supply and distribution of LPG cylinders in the Little Andaman Tehsil since last 3 (three) months and the stock of LPG available with them have been completely exhausted.

Port Blair, March 26: The Flagship scheme of NRLM is focused on helping the rural public especially women to become self-employed through SHGs. A unique feature of this program is the formation of village-level institutions by the women themselves, facilitated by local level para-workers known as Community Resource Persons (CPRs). These SHGs provide the rural woman a platform to get together, pool resources, and initiate a collective enterprise.

Port Blair, March 26: As a part of zero tolerance towards encroachment the District Administration of South Andaman carried out eviction drives against encroachments committed over Govt. Land in South Andaman District in Corbyn’s Cove village under Port Blair Tehsil and restored an area of 10000 Sq. mtrs. of Govt. Land into Govt. Khata.
During the eviction drive 10 structures were removed. Some of the encroachers had grabbed areas marked with fencing and had plantations in the encroachment. All such fencing and plantations were removed and land restored to government khata.

Port Blair, March 26: The UTGST Department of Andaman & Nicobar Islands conducted search and seizure operation in Shadipur & Aberdeen Bazaar on a Tour Operator/Service provider.
During the search operation, it was ascertained that the company has evaded tax amounting to Rs. 1.5 Cr. by way of non-payment of tax, irregular availment of ITC, non-filing of returns, wrong filing of returns, non-declaration of services provided and other business activities and premises.

Port Blair, March 25: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma on Wednesday raised the issue of providing job security to the Casual workers and payment of 'Equal Pay for Equal Work' to all the Daily Rates Mazdoors engaged in various departments of Andaman and Nicobar Administration.
Addressing the Hon'ble Speaker in the Parliament the MP said that in Andaman & Nicobar Islands there were around 7000 workers engaged by various departments of A&N Administration on daily wage basis continuously for past several years. Since these workers were entrusted with regular nature of works, similar to that being done by regular employees, the A&N Administration in the year 2017 took a policy decision to pay daily wage equal to 1/30th of the pay at the minimum of the relevant pay scale plus dearness allowance for work of 8 hours a day to casual workers engaged on Daily Wage basis from September 2017.
