Port Blair, April 26: The Hindu Rashtra Shakti (HRS) members today distributed face masks at the vegetable and fish market at Billiground.

Besides the face mask distribution, HRS members urged all public to wear face mask as most compulsory and maintain proper social distancing. It was also urged that nobody should move in public places unless required. They also urged the general public to extend all possible cooperation to the N&M Andaman Administration in combating the second wave of Covid 19 Pandemic.

Port Blair, April 25: The Deputy Commissioner (SA), Shri Suneel Anchipaka has expressed concern over the people not adhering to COVID appropriate behavior despite repeated appeals made by the Administration to deal with the current pandemic. Interacting with scribes, in the conference hall of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner here today, he said people should be responsible and always follow the COVID protocols viz. wearing of mask, use of hand sanitizer, maintain social distancing etc. He also appealed to the people above 45+ to get themselves vaccinated as early possible to protect themselves and their family from the virus.  The District Administration has initiated several measures to check the spread of corona virus.

AYUSH systems of medicine helping people to build immunity against ILI including COVID-19: DD AYUSH

Port Blair, April 25: is universally acknowledged that “Good health is the harbinger of happiness” and the AYUSH systems of medicine are playing a pivotal role in boosting the body’s immune system and minimizing the impact of viral infections. The Ayurvedic herbs such as tulsi, cinnamon, blackpepper, dry ginger etc are effective to increase the body’s immunity against harmful viruses. Listing the series of initiatives by the A&N State AYUSH Society, A&N Administration functioning under Directorate of Health Services, the Deputy Director (AYUSH), Dr. Kalyan Kabdhane said that since the outbreak of corona virus, immunity boosting medicine line Arsenicum album 30 (homeopathy medicine), Giloy/ Samshawati (Ayurveda), Ayush Kadha and other immunity enhancing medicines are being distributed to the people through AYUSH Hospital and its others branches located at different places from Diglipur to Campbell Bay. Consuming 1-2 tea spoon of Chawanprash on empty stomach will be very helpful in boosting immunity. Diabetic patients can take sugar free chawanprash, he said.

Port Blair, April 25: The committed effort of A&N Administration in administering COVID vaccines to beneficiaries in the age group of 45 years and above has yielded result. The vaccination drive has crossed the one lakh mark today (April 25). The health teams designated in various vaccination centres spread across the Islands are vaccinating all the beneficiaries above 45+ of age who visit the centre on a daily basis. The vaccination sessions are continuing in more than 88 designated vaccination centres set up in different parts of the Islands towards the fight against Corona virus in A& Islands. Today, 1244 doses of vaccines were administered to the eligible beneficiaries by the health teams, taking the total number of doses of vaccines administered so far to 1,00,688. 

Requests Chief Secretary to Review and Modify Order No 731 on Leave Sanctioning Authority

Port Blair, April 25: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to consider for review and modify the Administration order No.731 dated 17.03.2021 so far concerned to leave sanctioning authority by including that the Head of Office/Head of Institution are also the competent authority for grant of leave including Casual Leave and Station Leaving Permission to Group B (Non Gazetted) officers as the said revised order it would be very difficult and most impractical for them to avail leave such kind of leave from the concerned Head of the Department stationed at Port Blair, especially in case of any exigency.
