Port Blair, June 14: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 1, 32, 542 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. 

Port Blair, June 14: Social Workers Shri V K Abdul Aziz and Shri P Ummer (PHT) are providing Oxygen Concentrator (JMC5A Nhi) equipment at the doorstep of underprivileged Covid patients free of cost.

Abdul Aziz said that the oxygen concentrators were of immense help to patients in home isolation and also helped reduce the burden on oxygen cylinders supply.

DM South Andaman Relaxes Timings and Measures for Non-Essential Businesses

Port Blair, June 14: The District Magistrate, South Andaman in an Order No. 745 dated 13th June 2021 issued has declared that the on-going lockdown in South Andaman District will be extended for one more week w.e.f. 15thJune 2021. Lockdown will be effective till 21st June 2021.

Meanwhile, the Order indicates some relaxations in timings and to allow non-essential businesses for three days in a week.

Port Blair, June 14: The cargo vessel MV Chuglam will sail directly to Campbell Bay on 19.06.2021 (Sat) at 1700 hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail back to Port Blair via Nancowry, Katchal & Car Nicobar immediately after discharging/ loading of Cargo at respective ports.

Administration Hopeful for Situation to Gradually Improve

Port Blair, June 13: The sudden surge in COVID-19 cases which was primarily due to inter-island movement has slightly come down and hopefully the situation will gradually improve, said the Secretary (IP&T), Shri Sunil Kumar Singh addressing the media persons on COVID-19 status in the Islands held in the conference hall of IP&T here this evening. We cannot be complacent with this slight dip and urged the citizens to not let their guard down.
