Port Blair, July 5: Shri Vishal Jolly, Former State President, BJP A&N Islands has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to permit transportation of non-essential goods from Port Blair to N&M Andaman Islands. The reasoning was that all non-essential businesses have been permitted to open.

Blood Donor Dr. Satyam Setia
Dr. Satyam Setia, 55 is a Professor of English at JNRM Govt. College, Port Blair. Throughout his life, he had donated blood as many as 90 times to save precious lives. Satia says that his motivation to become a donor was NCC when he donated blood for the first time at the age of 18 as a Cadet.

The Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association expresses shock and grief at the sudden demise of Shri Vibhav Garg, Primary school Teacher attached to Govt. Senior Secondary School, Swaraj Dweep. He was under treatment at the Primary health centre there and breathed his last while shifting to GB Pant hospital Port Blair. He belongs to Delhi and was only 29. The Association conveys heartfelt condoles at his untimely death.

Port Blair, July 5: "Keep yourself hungry but never let a child sleep hungry" - Ram Vilas Paswan. Following the ideology of Late Ram Vilas Paswan and to mark the leader’s birth anniversary, the Lok Janshakti Party, A&N Islands under the leadership of Shri G. Nagendra (State President) and Shri Abhi Bhusan Ghosh (State President, Youth Wing) distributed meals among the children at Van Vasi Kalyan Ashram, Shadipur, Andaman & Nicobar islands.

Port Blair, July 4: There has been a delay in payment of monthly wages of staffs working under National Health Mission, the Frontline Health Workers. The staffs include Doctors, Staff Nurses and other paramedical staffs who are directly providing lifesaving care, especially in remote and rural areas. In this COVID situation, they work day and night fearlessly by risking their life but they are still waiting for their salaries from last three (03) months.
