M/s L&T Donates 86 Oxygen Concentrators to Augment Health Care Facility in the Islands
Port Blair, May 28: As many as 86 oxygen concentrators provided by M/s Larson and Toubro Limited were received today by the Administration due. The efforts to get the concentrators was made by the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain who had taken up the case.
Earlier a large number of Oxygen Concentrators were received from various companies due to the efforts of Chief Secretary. The delivery of these Oxygen Cylinders is expected to augment the health facility in A&N Islands.

We cannot be complacent until the cases drastically comes down: Secretary IP&T
Port Blair, May 28: The Secretary (IP&T), Shri Sunil Kumar Singh addressing a press conference on COVID-19 and the arrangement made by A&N Administration to protect its citizens said that though there is a very marginal dip in the number of positive cases but we cannot be complacent until the cases drastically comes down. The Administration is closely monitoring the situation and urged the people to strictly adhere to COVID Appropriate Behaviour. He further stated that during the RTPCR test conducted on 236 flight passengers yesterday, no positive cases were found. He said today, 3 flights with 338 passengers arrived and the RTPCR Test report is awaited. Apart from this, 6 positive cases were found during the check conducted on Inter Island ship bound passengers at Phoenix Bay Jetty.

1,24,038 Vaccines Administered So Far in the Islands
Port Blair, May 28: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands and so far, a total of 5,597 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date. As per the data available, altogether, 858 persons in the age group of 18 to 44 years were vaccinated in South Andaman District.

Port Blair, May 28: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has brought to the notice of Chief General Manager, BSNL that the villages of Tushnabad and adjoining area have no Telephone Connectivity at present. Since last five days Telephones are not working in the area. The MP requested the Chief General Manager to restore the phone connection at the earliest for the convenience of the general public and the students.

If People Do Not Cooperate, Administration Will be Forced to Impose Complete Lockdown
Port Blair, May 26: An analysis of data indicates that people are still not serious about following COVID protocols despite repeated pleas. About 125 challans were imposed on COVID violators yesterday. The number of positive cases although has shown a bit of decline but there is no significant improvement in the situation. This was stated by the Secretary (IP&T), Shri Sunil Kumar Singh while briefing the media.
