Port Blair, May 30: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament and President, Pradesh Congress Committee, Andaman & Nicobar Islands along with all senior leaders of Pradesh Congress Committee have deeply mourned the untimely demise of Shri Yusoof Jadwet, Managing Director of the Tribal Cooperative Society EHL (Ellen Hinengo Limited) for almost 40 years who left for heavenly abode on 29/05/2021. The MP and leaders pray to the Almighty for eternal peace of the departed soul and courage to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss.

M/s L&T Donates 86 Oxygen Concentrators to Augment Health Care Facility in the Islands

Port Blair, May 28: As many as 86 oxygen concentrators provided by M/s Larson and Toubro Limited were received today by the Administration due. The efforts to get the concentrators was made by the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain who had taken up the case.

Earlier a large number of Oxygen Concentrators were received from various companies due to the efforts of Chief Secretary. The delivery of these Oxygen Cylinders is expected to augment the health facility in A&N Islands.

We cannot be complacent until the cases drastically comes down: Secretary IP&T

Port Blair, May 28: The Secretary (IP&T), Shri Sunil Kumar Singh addressing a press conference on COVID-19 and the arrangement made by A&N Administration to protect its citizens said that though there is a very marginal dip in the number of positive cases but we cannot be complacent until the cases drastically comes down. The Administration is closely monitoring the situation and urged the people to strictly adhere to COVID Appropriate Behaviour. He further stated that during the RTPCR test conducted on 236 flight passengers yesterday, no positive cases were found. He said today, 3 flights with 338 passengers arrived and the RTPCR Test report is awaited. Apart from this, 6 positive cases were found during the check conducted on Inter Island ship bound passengers at Phoenix Bay Jetty.
