Chief Guest calls upon the budding sportsmen to get inspiration
Diglipur, Dec 27: The triumphant Medalists of the 23rd State School Games held recently at Sri Vijaya Puram, representing Diglipur Educational Zone were accorded a warm welcome and the felicitation ceremony was organized by the Deputy Education Officer yesterday at Vivekanand Stadium.
Welcoming the Chief Guest, the Assistant Commissioner, Shri Kamleshwar Rao S, IAS, and the other dignitaries, the Deputy Education Officer Smti Sulochana informed that the young School sportsmen of Diglipur zone performed brilliantly in the State School Games and bagged altogether 26 medals including 5 Gold, 15 Silver and 6 Bronze medals at the highest School level competition in this Union Territory. Elaborating on the preparatory phase before the competitions, she said that a week-long special coaching cum conditioning camp was conducted before the departure of the sports contingent to Sri Vijaya Puram which helped immensely in sharpening the skills and expertise of the young players. Acting as coaches the PETs played a crucial role in developing the talents of the budding sportsmen, she said.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 27: National Statistics Office under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Govt. of India is organizing a Regional Training Camp for National Sample Survey 80th Round from 26th to 30th Dec.2024 at Kendriya Sadan, CPWD Complex, Lamba Line, Sri Vijaya Puram. Shri Gaurang Mishra, Director, Directorate of Economics & Statistics, A&N administration inaugurated the Regional Training Camp. In his address, he highlighted the need for high-quality data and urged the participants to ensure rigorous standards in data collection. Shri Bappa Saha, Assistant Director, NSO is conducting the training camp.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 27: To commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a blood donation camp was successfully organized at Kaithan Kalyana Mandapam in Ward No. 6, Junglighat. The event, a heartfelt tribute to Atal Ji’s legacy of service and compassion, saw overwhelming participation from the community.
The Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman, Shri Arjun Sharma (IAS) who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, delivered a motivational address, emphasizing the importance of blood donation as a life-saving gesture and urging citizens to contribute selflessly to humanity.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 27: The 12th Andaman & Nicobar State Conference of Communist Party of India (Marxist) will begin on 28th December, 2024 with a massive procession followed by public meeting at Tiranga Park. The mass procession will begin from Tiranga Park at 4 p.m. and will culminate at the same place after making a round of the Aberdeen bazaar area, etc. The public meeting will begin at 5 p.m. which will be addressed by G. Ramakrishnan, Polit Bureau Member, Dr Sujan Chakraborty, Ex-MP and Central Committee Member and D. Ayyappan, State Secretary among others.

Rangat, Dec. 27: ICAR-KVK N&M Andaman organized an educational exposure visit for students of JNV Panchwati and Government Senior Secondary School Sabari Junction Rangat, N&M Andaman to the KVK on 23rd December 2024. A total of 96 students accompanied by 6 teachers visited the KVK. The visit aimed to provide students with insights into the functioning, structure, and contributions of the KVK to local agriculture and rural development.
