Shri. V K Abdul Aziz, President, District Congress Comittee, R/o Brindraban expressed deep sadness at the passing away of Shri John Paul, Veterinary Compounder, R/o Webi, Mayabunder who breathed his last today (07.01.2022) due to road accident.  Aziz prayed to the Almighty for the strength and perseverance of all bereaved family members to get through this difficult time of irreparable loss.

Port Blair, Jan. 7: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 343 passengers who arrived here yesterday, 20 positive cases have been detected. Today, 14 flights with 1968 passengers arrived, out of which, RT-PCR test was conducted on 446 passengers (includes 17 foreign travellers) and the reports are awaited. About 41 positive cases were found during the test conducted yesterday and few needs repeat test.

Port Blair, Jan 6: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary of A&N Administration to direct the Forest Department to place 'Nets' at the entry points of all the nallahs of North & Middle Andaman, where crocodiles are sighted. This is to ensure that crocodiles do not enter inside these nallahs and people living in the region can lead a normal life without any fear of Crocodile attacks.

Port Blair, Jan.7: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,09,121 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. A total of 3288 people were vaccinated today.

Port Blair, Jan 6: Director General VS Pathania, PTM, TM took over as the 24th Chief of Indian Coast Guard on 31 Dec 21.  The Flag Officer is an alumni of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and National Defence College, New Delhi.  The Flag Officer is a qualified helicopter pilot and holds a Master’s Degree in Defence & Strategic Studies from the University of Madras.  He has also undergone specialization in Search and Rescue and port operations with US Coast Guard.
