Port Blair, July 22: In view of “Guru Purnima” falling on 24th July 2021 and also keeping in view the prevailing COVID restrictions, the District Magistrate, South Andaman has permitted the temples in South Andaman District to open to offer prayers from 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM, with strict adherence to the National Directives for COVID-19 Management are fully complied in letter and spirit.

In a letter addressed to Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A & N Islands and Chief Secretary, A & N Administration Jolly pointed out following important, reasonable & justified issue which require immediate intervention and need to be addressed appropriately on behalf of the public at large.
