Port Blair, Sept. 20: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 4,15,889 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2, 81, 603 (approx.). A total of 1,63,151 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date.

MP Demands More Ferries Between Chatham, Bambooflat and Marine to Ease the Problems of Residents

Port Blair, Sept. 19: Highlighting the problems being faced by people of Bambooflat, Wimberlygunj, Hope Town, Stewartgunj, Shore Point, Panighat, Mannarghat, Wright Myo, Shoal Bay and nearby areas, the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep  Rai  Sharma demanded more Vehicle Ferry Vessels between Chatham and Bambooflat and more normal Ferry between Marine and Bambooflat.

Port Blair, Sept. 19: The Indian Coast Guard Region (A&N) conducted a Maritime Search and Rescue Workshop through video conferencing on 16 Sep 21. The workshop was inaugurated by Deputy Inspector General P Pradeep Kumar, Chief Staff Officer (Operation), CGRHQ (A&N). Mercantile Marine Department, DGCA/AAI, Directorate of Shipping Services, Port Management Board, State Disaster Management, Department of Fisheries, INCOIS, BSNL (SKYLO), DMA, CISF, Marine Police, Customs, Andaman Merchant Club and Sports Fishing Club participated in the workshop.

Port Blair, Sept. 19: The ANTCC leaders led by President Shri. Rangalal Halder and Campaign Committee Chairman Shri. G. Bhasker on Saturday met Former Congress President Shri. Rahul Gandhi at New Delhi to discuss about organizational issues and strengthening the party.

Halder expressed his pleasure at the manner in which recent leadership changes have been brought in the ANTCC.

Port Blair, Sept. 19: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded early release of pension for the new cases of old age, widow, specially-abled and destitute people.

On Friday the Member of Parliament met the Director of Social Welfare Department and mentioned that nearly 700 old age, widow, specially-abled and destitute people who are eligible for monthly pension under various schemes of Government of India, have already applied for the same, in Social Welfare Department.
