Port Blair, July 2: As part of his tour to various remote places in the islands, the Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, along with Shri V. Candavelou, Commissioner–cum–Secretary (Health), Dr. Omkar Singh, Director of Health Services and Shri Yash Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar today visited Campbell Bay and Kamorta. The MP, along with the health authorities has been visiting different places in the islands to take stock of the impact of the second wave of Covid-19 and to assess the preparedness to combat the anticipated third wave of Covid-19 and also to review the medical facilities available in various places in the islands.

Port Blair, July 2: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, has requested the Lt. Governor to consider granting extension to Guest faculties of JNRM for the academic session 2021. There are altogether 90 Nos. Guest faculties working under the aegis of JNRM College whose extension orders are yet to be issued.

Port Blair, July 2: Shri Vishal Jolly, Former State President, BJP through his letter to the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration has appraised him about the daily harassment meted out to islanders from Bambooflat Wimberly Gunj-Ferrar Gunj region due to curtailed ferry service in Bambooflat-Chatham route. With restrictions eased, office and other business/commercial activity have opened; consequently peoples, including government employees, emergency service, frontline and hospital care workers from Bambooflat region now need to take daily ferry to reach their workplace or return home. However to the surprise of everyone, ferry service, still has not been augmented causing immense pain and suffering to a large section of the population hailing from rural south Andaman region.

Ajoy Bairagi has written a letter to the Director, State Transport Services, Andaman & Nicobar Administration requesting him to consider plying of busses operated by STS as well as private busses on fixed schedule on regular short intervals for the convenience of the general public.
