Port Blair, March 30: In view of detection of a number of COVID-19 positive cases in Chakkargaon area in Port Blair Tehsil, a part of Chakkargaon has been declared as Containment zone, as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the Ministry of Home Affairs from time to time.

The following officers are hereby deployed in the respective places as mentioned against them.

Port Blair, March 30: With the active citizen participation & the efforts of Port Blair Municipal Council, Port Blair city has bagged of ODF++ from MoHUA, GoI.

A Third-Party Inspection (TPI) was conducted by MoHUA after PBMC filed an application for the declaration Open Defecation Free (ODF) ++ status for the city. The declaration of Port Blair as ODF ++ was received through an official communication by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) recently.

Port Blair, March 30: SATTE Asia’s largest Travel Fair which started on 24th March 2021 concluded on 26th March 2021. The Andaman Association of Tour Operators had put a stall in SATTE-2021 to promote Brand Andaman.

It is likely to intensify further during subsequent 24 hours and is likely to become well marked deep depression moving north-easterly direction towards Southern Group of Islands (SGI). Under its influence, heavy rain, squally winds gusting upto 30-35 knots and very rough sea conditions are likely to remain over Andaman sea upto 04 Apr 21.
