Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 20: Former Member of Parliament Kuldeep Rai Sharma, has written to the Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Administration, urging to provide battery-operated passenger vehicles (buggies) to assist patients in reaching the entrance of G B Pant Hospital from the ANIIMS bus stop and from the hospital to the bus stop in return.

This initiative aims to improve the accessibility of the hospital for vulnerable patients, including senior citizens, pregnant women, children, and those with physical disabilities.

Kamorta, Jan 20: On 19/01/2025 at 1050 hours, Nicobar District Police acted swiftly on credible information received from the local people of Kamorta, regarding the sighting of a Burmese dinghy between Dering and Olinpow. A team led by the SHO of PS Nancowry, Sub-Inspector Calvin, along with police personnel, rushed to Dering village. A thorough search operation led to the discovery of the dinghy at Inkato Nalah, where six Burmese nationals were apprehended.

Haldia, Jan 20: Islands' eminent Bengali Poet and Editor, Baakprotima - the only PRGI-registered Bengali Little Magazine of A&N Islands, Shri Anadiranjan Biswas participated in the International Bengali Literature and Culture Festival 2025, 21st in series - held in Haldia, West Bengal from 17 to 19 January 2025 as the sole representative of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
