Port Blair, Jan 30: A Multi-Specialty Medical Camp was organised on 28 Jan 23 at PHC, Chouldari by INHS Dhanvantari under the aegis of HQ Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC). The camp was inaugurated by Surg Cmde Sanjeev Tandon, Chief Staff Officer (Medical) of HQ Andaman and Nicobar Command.

Port Blair, Jan 30: An awareness programme on Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana was conducted for the students of batch - 2018 of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences. The orientation session was carried out by Shri. R. Vivek, IEC Manager, State Health Agency, ANI to sensitize the students about the implementation of Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. He briefed about the benefits, eligibility criteria and operational aspects of the scheme.

Port Blair, Jan 27: Impressive parade, colourful cultural programme, presentation of medals and Lt Governor’s Commendation Certificates marked 74th Republic Day celebration in A&N Islands yesterday. The main function for the Republic Day was held at Marina Park road stretch wherein the Hon’ble Lt Governor, A&N Islands & Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency, Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.) unfurled the National Tricolour.  The function was attended among others by Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS, DGP, Shri Neeraj Thakur, IPS, senior Officers of Defence & Civil Administration and public representatives.  

Port Blair, Jan. 29: As per Meteorological Department weather report, due to squally weather associated with low pressure area over South East Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean, wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph is likely to prevail along and off Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till Jan. 30, 2023.
