Port Blair, June 10: The Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) will be organising a state Level U-15 Chess Tournament 2022 in connection with the 44th Chess Olympiad on 22nd & 23rd June 2022 at JNRM College Auditorium Port Blair.

The tournament is meant for school children below 15 years of age, born on or after 1.1.2007. It will be conducted separately for boys and girls. There is no entry fee for participation. However, each player is required to have AICF registration for the year 2022-2023.

Port Blair, June 10: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,82,399 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23,545 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs. and 13,006 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 26010.

INTER ISLAND SECTOR:

MV Kalighat will sail for Car Nicobar on 14.06.2022 (Tue) at 1000 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail for Port Blair on 15.06.2022 (Wed) at 1600 Hrs from Car Nicobar.

Passenger Tickets for onward journey will be issued on 14.06.2022 at Haddo Wharf two hours prior to the departure time of the vessel based on the list provided by Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Port Blair and also after due verification of COVID Test Certificate and Islander Card/Local Certificate/Tribal Pass etc.

Port Blair, June 10: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 200 passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 13 flights with 1909 passengers arrived, out of which, 1631 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 221 passengers and the reports are awaited.   

Member of Parliament Urges Administration for Preventive Measures Against Dengue

Port Blair, June 9: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary of A&N Administration to issue necessary directions to the Health Department and Port Blair Municipal Council to step up anti-dengue drives by forming quick action teams and also spread massive awareness among the public against Dengue.
