Sri Vijaya Puram, March 16: ICAR-CIARI, Sri Vijaya Puram, in partnership with its KVKs, will host the Kisan Mela on March 18th and 19th ,2025, at the Mela ground within the Garacharma Research Complex. This two-day event aims to create a dynamic environment for farmers, researchers, and policymakers to interact, fostering the integration of traditional agricultural methods with contemporary scientific innovations to promote a sustainable and prosperous agricultural future. Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary of A&N Islands, has kindly agreed as the Chief Guest and will officially open both the Kisan Mela and the Dweep Agro-Eco-Walk initiative at the Sippighat and Garacharma farms of the institute.Ms. Pallavi Sarkar, IAS Secretary, Agriculture & Animal Husbandry will grace the occasion as guest of honour.

The notification for the recruitment of unmarried youth under the Agniveer (Male & Female) and the Zonal and Central categories have been published on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in on 12th March, 2025 for the Recruiting Year 2025-26. Applications are invited from the domiciles of 11 districts of Tamil Nadu under the Recruiting Office (Headquarters), Chennai. They are Cuddalore, Vellore, Tirupathur, Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai, Chennai, Thiruvallur, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu, Puducherry District of Puducherry Union Territory and all the districts of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.  ‘An initiative towards conservation of Sea turtles with People’s participation from all walks of Life’

Campbell Bay, March 13: Turtle Festival was celebrated at B-Quarry beach, Campbell Bay with the theme - ‘An initiative towards conservation of Sea turtles with People’s participation from all walks of Life’ today. The festival was attended by around 20 School students, accompanied by teachers of GPS, Campbell Bay. The Turtle Festival campaign was first of its kind organized by Nicobar Forest Division. Shri E.S. Rajesh, Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti graced the occasion as the chief guest, accompanied by Shri Venkat, Pradhan, GP, Govindnagar and Shri Vishnu, Researcher, Wildlife Institute of India. The importance of the occasion and the purpose of organizing such a unique festival was briefed by the Divisional Forest Officer, and Assistant Conservator of Forests, Nicobar Division.
