Sri Vijaya Puram, April 8: The inaugural function of 7th POSHAN Pakhwada 2025 was held today at Prothrapur Community Hall with great enthusiasm and commitment towards the vision of a malnutrition-free India. Smti Gurjeet Kaur, Block Development Officer, Prothrapur & staff, Smti Radhika Dheeraj, Councillor, Ward No. 23, ANM, ICDS Staff, Anganwadi Workers and general public were present on the occasion.

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 7: The cargo vessel MV Chuglam will sail for Campbell Bay via Little Andaman, Car Nicobar, Chowra, Teressa, Katchal & Nancowry on 12.04.2025 at 1600 hrs from Chatham/Haddo Jetty and will sail for Sri Vijaya Puram immediately after discharging/loading of Cargo at respective ports. Booking of cargo for the sailing will commence from 08.04.2024 onwards between 0900 hrs & 1200 hrs at Commercial Wing.

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 4: Today on 04.04.2025, in a significant step towards promoting sustainable tourism practices, 34 hoteliers from Swarajdweep and Shaheed Dweep including Government Guest Houses were awarded Swachhata Green Leaf Rating certificates. The certificates were distributed by Shri. Jitendra Srivastava, IAS, Joint Secretary and Mission Director, Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India. Shri. Jitendra Srivastava was joined by Shri Sushant Padha, IAS, Assistant Commissioner, Swaraj Dweep, and Smti. Gurjeet Kaur, Block Development Officer, CD Block Prothrapur, in presenting the certificates to the hoteliers. This achievement demonstrated the commitment of the hoteliers in Swarajdweep and Shaheed Dweep towards maintaining high standards of hygiene and sanitation, and promoting sustainable tourism practices.

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 8: Due to technical snag, the services of one of the vehicle ferry vessels MV North Bay operating between Middle Strait and Baratang has been withdrawn with effect from 08.04.2025, following which, the services of MVF Kadamtala & MVF Austin-IV will be available in the above route.

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 4: As part of the ten-day Book Fair, a Literary Session on 'How to publish a book', was conducted by the Director, National Book Trust, New Delhi, Shri Yuvraj Malik today at ITF Ground. The Secretary (Art & Culture), Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS and the Director (Art & Culture), Ms. Priyanka Kumari were also present on the occasion.
