Port Blair, Oct. 19: Communist Party of India (Marxist) has demanded adequate compensation to all the fire victims at Aerial Bay Market, Diglipur, North Andaman. In a letter sent to the Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands today (19.10.2022), Shri D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee has said that in the fire broke out at Aerial Bay, Diglipur on 18th October, 2022 afternoon, about 9 shops have been gutted.

Port Blair, Oct.19: As part of weeklong activities to commemorate the establishment of Provisional Govt. of Azad Hind (PGI), drawing and patriotic songs competition were organised in various schools. Elocution competition on the theme ‘PGI and Andaman’ was conducted in JNRM today in which students from JNRM, TGCE, ANCOL and Law College participated.

Port Blair, Oct. 19: A free dental check-up camp was held at Khalsa Public Senior Secondary School, Port Blair on 18th and 19th October respectively. The camp was organized by Inner Wheel Club in collaboration with Dr. Poonam Arora (Arora Dental Clinic), Port Blair. Alongwith the other members present, Mrs Raj Mahajan, Charter President and Mrs Satinderpal Kaur, President, Inner Wheel club graced the inaugural session on 18th October 2022.

Port Blair, Oct. 19: The online data collection of marine fish catch from 74 fish landing points/ centers in the Islands with the support of the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Kochi has been launched today. This is the first time the marine fish catch data is collected from the archipelago with statistically supported software. The move was the outcome of a Memorandum of Understanding between the ICAR-CMFRI and the Department of the Fisheries of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration.
