General Public and School Children not to Participate in Official Ceremony
Port Blair, Aug 13: Every year on 15th August, the Nation celebrates its Independence Day with grandeur, gaiety, fervour and enthusiasm. This year too, the Independence Day will be celebrated in a manner befitting the occasion, however with some extra precaution and measures in view of the COVID-19 situation. In this regard, the Govt. of India has issued guidelines for the conduct of the Independence Day celebrations as per the COVID -19 protocols by ensuring social distancing, wearing of masks, proper sanitisation, avoiding large gatherings, protecting vulnerable persons etc.

After Shifting OPD from GB Pant, ANI Administration Decides to Provide Tele-Consultation at Designated Urban Health Centres
Port Blair, Aug 13: The A& N Islands have seen a steep rise in COVID-19 positive cases in past few days. G B Pant Hospital, Port Blair is at the forefront of this Administration’s COVID-19 response. In view of the increase in infection as well as to protect patients visiting G B Pant Hospital from unnecessary exposure to COVID 19, OPD services of G B Pant Hospital for minor ailments, have been shifted to the designated to Urban Health Centres w.e.f 7th August 2020.

Used PPE Materials Found Discarded on the Veranda of COVID Isolation Ward
Port Blair, Aug 13: With more and more Doctors and staffs of Andaman’s only referral hospital GB Pant getting tested positive for corona virus, the hospital seems to be in doldrums. The shortage of staffs in the hospital has led to a situation wherein the management is forced to have a common ward for ladies, including those who have delivered babies along with male patients. The situation has gone so worse that the ladies were forced to used even common toilets with the male patients.
