Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 29: NDFDC is an apex organization under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The corporation provides concessional financial assistance of upto 50 lakhs to persons with Disabilities (PwDs/ Divyangjan) to support their economic empowerment. The financial assistance is channelized through various implementing agencies which also includes banks.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 29: All Ration Card Holders of the UT who have their family members migrated to foreign countries for seeking job or are serving in other countries or have acquired foreign citizenship or have got Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card  have been requested to inform the Department  of CS&CA and get their names deleted from their Ration Cards immediately, failing which, strict action as per the provisions of PDS Control Order, 2015 shall be taken against the card holders without any further notice.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 28: The State Child Protection Society (SCPS), under the Directorate of Social Welfare, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, organized a vibrant program on the occasion of National Girl Child Day at Seva Niketan, Child Care Institution. The event aimed to promote the overall well-being of children through fun and engaging activities such as Zumba and Arabic dance classes.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 28: The Grand Mahakumbh Mela is being held in Teerthraj Prayagraj, from Paush Purnima on January, 13, 2025 and will continue up to Mahashivratri on February 26, 2025. Kumbh holds a special place in Indian culture, known as 'Sarvasiddhipradaha Kumbh'-the bestower of all siddhis. This grand event intricately weaves together India's spiritual, religious, cultural, and social traditions. UNESCO has recognized Kumbh as an 'Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity’.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 28: A & N AIDS Control Society (ANACS) organized State Level Drama Competition, Abhivyakti, The Red Show for the College Students on 24th January 2025 (Friday). 15 Red Ribbon Club teams from 9 Colleges /Institutes of A & N Islands participated in the competition.

Shri Naresh Chander Lal, Padma Shri Awardee, Indian film Director & Producer graced the event as Chief Guest. He is a known graduate from National School of Drama. He appreciated ANACS for organizing such an event where so many teams participated. He also guided the students on the technical aspects required to present a drama.
