Port Blair, Sept. 1: Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands condoles the demise of Bharat Ratna Late (Shri.) Pranab Mukherjee Ji, 13th President of India. Bharat Ratna Late (Shri.) Pranab Mukherjee Ji passed away today on 31st of August 2020 at New Delhi, India. In his political career spanning five decades, Bharat Ratna Late (Shri.) Pranab Mukherjee Ji was a senior leader in the Indian National Congress and occupaied several ministerial portfolios in the Govt. of India. Prior to his election as President, Bharat Ratna Late (Shri.) Pranab Mukherjee Ji was Union Finance Minister from 2009 to 2012.

Port Blair, Sept. 1: The A&N Administration has issued the following directives for passengers travelling by ship.
All passengers are mandatorily to undergo COVID-19 test prior to travel and only passengers who test negative for the above test would be allowed to board on the vessel.

Port Blair, Sept. 1: In a letter to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, the Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council, N.K.Udhaya Kumar has raised the issue of admission of students in various colleges and Institutions. The Civic Chief briefed about the problems faced by the students who are residing particularly in the Containment Zones / Clusters and the issues of non-availability of proper internet facilities in some places. The Chairperson further requested to Chief Secretary to issue necessary direction to the concerned officials and Institutions to extend the last date of submission of application for a further period of 15 days (Up to 15th September 2020) which will ease out the problems of the aspiring students and the parents as well.
