Port Blair, Dec. 3: V Rajendran, a lemon fruit seller, located at Aberdeen Bazaar, supports a family of four members that include his wife and two sons aged 19 and 22 years. Being the only bread winner, he was among the worst affected by the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. He struggled to make his ends meet after his stock of fruits totally perished during lockdown. He could not stop tears in his eyes recalling the pandemic time. His family members faced extremely hardships and sometimes survived only on some biscuits for lunch and dinner.

Port Blair, Dec. 3: On 02/12/2020, information was received at PS Central Crime Station that contraband is kept in the house of S. Karthick R/o Brookshabad, which was conveyed to Senior Officers. On the directions of Shri Jagdev Singh Yadav DANIPS, Dy.SP (CID), a raiding team comprising Inspr. Mohd Elias, In-charge PS CCS, SI T. Dilla Rao, SI Santosh R. Shenoy, ASI Vijay Shankar, Head Constable Shibani Biswas, Constable P. K Mondal, Rajendran and Raja Rao of PS CCS was constituted and sent to Brookshabad for carrying out the raid in a highly professional and well-coordinated manner.
