Port Blair, Dec. 4: The District Administration in coordination with the Andaman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has planned to organize a Great Grand Job Mela in the ITF ground. This Mela is being conducted by the District Administration in its bid to normalize the lives of the unemployed youths who have lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Around 900 vacancies in different categories and sectors are being likely to be filled up in the Mela. The timing and further details will be intimated shortly.

Car Nicobar, Dec. 4: The District Road Safety Committee Meeting was held today at the Chamber of DC Nicobar and was chaired by Shri Kishore Kshirsagar Laxman, Deputy Commissioner Nicobar.

Port Blair, Dec. 4: Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party has written a letter to the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands requesting him to consider the plight of the Barbers of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and provide some financial relief to them.
Bairagi informed about the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the barbers of the Islands, who are one of the most affected communities. He mentioned that the barbers have exhausted all their savings due to the complete closure of their business for five months.

Port Blair, Dec. 4: The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Govt. of India has launched PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) to facilitate micro credit loan upto Rs. 10,000 to the street vendors so that they can start their business, which was adversely affected during the lock down imposed to check spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
