Port Blair, Aug. 22: The Housing & Estate Section, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, Secretariat has allotted around 41 Nos. Govt. Accommodations (Type-I, Type-II & Type-III) vide Order Nos. 2359, 2360 and 2361 dated 18th August, 2023 respectively under General category through the Automated Allotment of Government Accommodation Application (computerized system). All applicants who have got quarter allotted through the above Application may send their claims/grievances, if any related to allotment of Govt. accommodations to the Assistant Secretary(H&E), Secretariat, Port Blair within 7 days.

Port Blair, Aug. 22: Due to technical reasons, the scheduled sailing of the vessel MV Bharat Seema for Nancowry via Little Andaman, Car Nicobar, Chowra, Teressa & Katchal on 24.08.2023 at 0700 hrs from Haddo Wharf and return voyage to Port Blair on 27.08.2023 at 0500 hrs from Nancowry via same route has been cancelled.              

Passengers those who have purchased their tickets for the above sailing have been advised to cancel their tickets and get full refund.

Port Blair, Aug. 22: The vacancy notice for various contractual posts in respect of POSHAN 2.0 under the Directorate of Social Welfare has been displayed in the Notice board of the Social Welfare Department and uploaded on the   official website http://andsswl.and.nic.in/socialwelfare. Applications have been invited up to 12/09/2023 by 5 pm. Scrutiny of the application shall be done on 03/10/2023. The interview for the same is scheduled to be held on 4th & 5th October, 2023 from 11am onwards in the Chamber of Secretary (SW) at Goalghar.

Port Blair, Aug 21: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to replace MV Galathia, which is being operated between Katchal and Kamorta, with a better ferry.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that he has been informed by the public of Katchal Island that MV Galathia Ferry, which is over four-decade old is currently in a state of disrepair and rust.
