Diglipur, Sept. 8: In an initiative to promote road safety and traffic education among children, the ‘Traffic Gyan’ Abhiyan was launched by North & Middle Andaman district Police at the newly inaugurated Children's Traffic Park in Diglipur. This innovative program aims to provide students with essential traffic-related lessons through interactive and fun-filled activities.
Under this initiative, students from various schools will visit the park to gain a deeper understanding of road safety in a hands-on manner. The park replicates real-life traffic situations, allowing children to practice and learn through mock driving or cycling exercises. The goal is to create a safe, engaging environment where students can absorb important safety lessons while having fun.

Port Blair, Sept. 8: Grandmaster Tejas Bakre, one of India’s top chess players, professional chess coach and FIDE Senior Trainer will be visiting Port Blair on 9th September 2024. In this regard, ANCA will be organizing a Chess Simul Event at Hotel Lemon Tree, Port Blair at 5:30 PM. The event will be followed by an exclusive interaction session with parents.
This is a great opportunity for budding chess players in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands to see Grandmaster Bakre in action as he simultaneously takes on multiple opponents in the simul. The interactive session will also allow parents and players to ask questions and get helpful advice on chess training and improvement.

Port Blair, Sept. 8: The 37th National Under-11 Chess Championships–2024 will be held in Hyderabad, Telangana. In this connection, Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) will conduct a Selection Trials on 14.09.2024 at ANCA Chess Centre, Dairy Farm to select players from Andaman & Nicobar Islands for the Championship.
Players born on or after 1st January 2013 are eligible to participate, and AICF Player Registration for the year 2024-25 is mandatory.

Port Blair, Sept. 8: The Cyber Crime Police Station (CCPS) of Andaman & Nicobar Police has successfully solved another case by apprehending a suspect involved in cyber bullying of women.
The Cyber Crime Police Station (CCPS) received a complaint about a Facebook profile being misused to send threatening messages. The suspect had manipulated images by attaching a nude body to the victim's photo before sending them. Following the complaint, authorities initiated an investigation and through continuous surveillance, the suspect was tracked down and apprehended on September 6, 2024. During interrogation, the individual confessed to altering and uploading photos to threaten the victim.

Port Blair, Sept. 8: A Meeting of AC Cadre employees of Andaman & Nicobar Administration has been convened in the office of Andaman Nicobar Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh (ANRKM) in presence of Shri. M. Veeranna, State President, BMS, A & N Islands.
A lengthy discussion on the issues facing by the AC Cadre employees were discussed and flagged the points to be raised with the Administration as well as with the GoI for its redressal. In the meeting, a new association has been formed in the name of Andaman Nicobar AC Cadre Karmachari Sangh in which Shri. R. Rajesh, Shri. Thiruvasagam and Shri. Jaipal were declared as President, Secretary and, Finance Secretary respectively besides other office bearers and Executive members.
