Port Blair, Dec. 2: A delegation of the Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry led by its President called on the Lt. Governor of A&N Islands on 25th November 2022 to discuss on issues related to the economic development of the Islands.
During the meeting, the Chamber expressed its disappointment on the Islands recently being in the news for all the wrong reasons and also conveyed to his Excellency the pain of the business community since March of 2020 and the fact that the economy, especially tourism, has not even reached 50 percent of pre-covid levels. They also expressed their anguish and concern that over the last year or so the business community have had to face lot of difficulties due to an atmosphere of fear which had been created and quite a few members had to face humiliation, coercion and vindictive actions.

Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member BJP & Former State President BJP – A&N Islands has deeply mourned the demise of Mr. T. Mujeeb Rehman (aged 46 Yrs), R/o Mathura, who expired on 04.12.2022 at Chennai. In his message Shri Jolly prayed to the Almighty to give peace to his eternal soul departed for heavenly abode and give strength to his bereaved family member to bear this irreparable loss.

Port Blair, Dec. 2: Division of Animal Science, ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair conducted series of workshop for five days on Improvement and Conservation of Native Poultry at tribal farming community Chingen Village, Campbell Bay and Kinmai, Tapoiming, Malacca and Perka villages, Car Nicobar from 24-28, November 2022 under Scheduled Tribal Component in collaboration with DBT-Biotech Kisan Hub. Shri. Hilton, 1st Captain, Chingen Village, Campbell Bay and 1st Captains viz., Shri. Ireneous Benjamin, (Kinmai), Shri. Kishore, (Tapoiming), Shri. Micah (Malacca) and Shri. Paul David (Perka) Tribal Farming Community, Car Nicobar along with 167 tribal farmers including 90 women tribal farmers participated in the programme.
