Port Blair, Aug 3: The Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta, Circuit Bench at Port Blair has ordered suspension of the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS for contempt of court in complying to the Hon’ble Court’s Order dated 19th December 2022, wherein the Hon’ble Court had ordered for granting 1/30th Pay to the Daily Rated Mazdoors working in various departments of A&N Administration.

Port Blair, Aug 3: The Bambooflat Police in a well-coordinated operation conducted on 27/07/2023, recovered cannabis and a cannabis plant, leading to the arrest of the involved person. During the operation, Inspr. K Abdul Nasir, SHO, PS Bambooflat with his raiding team discovered the cannabis plant and uprooted and seized the cannabis plant, which was being cultivated discreetly, followed by the seizure of 01 No. cannabis plant. Further upon interrogation, the accused person disclosed the fact that some quantity of Ganja was kept in his house. Based on the disclosure, the raiding team went to the house of the accused, where 01 No. white colour plastic polythene bag containing illicit Ganja of 50 grams was recovered.

Port Blair, Aug 3: On 02/08/2023, in a joint operation conducted by the Narcotic Cell and PS Central Crime Station, CID Unit, a significant breakthrough was achieved with the arrest of two individuals involved in illegal drug activities. The accused have been identified as Rohit Lall (27 years old) and Shankar Mohan (32 years old), residents of Prothrapur near Shiv Temple and Bhatubasti near Galaxy Hotel, Port Blair, respectively.

Port Blair, Aug 3: The A&N AIDS Control Society (ANACS) conducted a mainstreaming training programme on HIV/AIDS for the GREF Officers & Personnel on 02.08.2023 at Recreation Room HQ 46 BR(1)TF, Chakkar Goan, Port Blair. A total of 50 personnel participated in the training programme.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr Subrata Saha, Project Director, A&N AIDS Control Society.
