Sri Vijaya Puram, March 18: The ANKURAN Phase 2 workshop, a vital initiative under Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) commenced today in the Conference Hall of SIE, Sri Vijaya Puram. This two-day workshop aims to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) by enhancing mentorship and refining intervention strategies. Mission ANKURAN is an initiative of the State Institute of Education (SIE) aimed at strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) skills in students from Class 1 to Class 8.

Diglipur, March 18: With the initiation of dry spell and low humidity, which acts as favorable conditions for infestation of pest, the Department of Agriculture, Diglipur has taken initiative by conducting field visits and creating awareness programmes for farmers about the prophylactic and the possible control measures to be adopted like spraying of neem insecticides and installing yellow sticky traps @ 15 nos. per hectare. Farmers have been advised to conduct continuous monitoring of their field on pest and also natural enemies.

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 18: A three-days Training Programme on ‘Maintenance of Fishing Boat Engines & Fishing Practices’ jointly being organized by Department of Fisheries, A&N Administration and Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training (CIFNET), Chennai was inaugurated today by Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, Secretary (Fisheries) at the Fisheries Training Centre, Marine Hill. The training aims to equip local fishermen with the skills to resolve minor boat engine issues, enhancing their operational efficiency and safety and promote sustainable fishing practices that contribute to the welfare of the community.
