Port Blair, July 29: The recent weather forecast indicates low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Southwest Andaman Sea.It is likely to intensify further during subsequent 24 hours and is likely to become well marked deep depression moving northwards initially and then North Westerly along and off Andaman & Nicobar Islands.Under its influence, heavy rain, squally winds gusting upto 30 knots and very rough sea conditions with wave height 3.5-4.0 Mtrsare likely to remain over Andaman sea upto 30 Jul 20.

Port Blair, July 28: With the unpredictable approach of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration and the ever rising number of COVID-19 positive cases in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, there is a panic created among the islanders. The reason being a sudden decision to close down the Liquor Vending Shops overnight, by the District Magistrate, South Andaman yesterday and the uncontrollable number of cases getting recorded day by day.

Port Blair, July 29: In view of Id-ul-Zuha falling on Saturday the 1st of August 2020, the movement of people for prayers from home to place of worship is allowed by the Administration between 07.00 am to 12.00 noon, said the District Magistrate, South Andaman in an order issued today.

Court to Remain Closed from Today
Port Blair, July 28: A test was conducted upon one of the staff of the District & Sessions Judge, presently attached to the Court & Office of the Judicial Magistrate, First Class, 2nd Court, Port Blair who has been tested COVID-19 positive. In lieu of the situation arisen and considering the safety measure, the entire court and offices at Port Blair shall remain closed from 28th July 2020 to 31st July 2020 or until further order, whichever is earlier.
