Port Blair, Oct. 29: A total of 4,89,810 doses of vaccines have been administered so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2,81,603 (approx.). A total of 1,72,963 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date. A total of 1598 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands.

Port Blair, Oct. 27:  The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Chairman of Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Union, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma distributed course completion certificates to 50 ladies of Bambooflat region on 23.10.2021. The ladies have successfully completed the three month-long Tailoring and Fashion Designing course organized by Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Union.

Transport Department Launches Slot Booking Facility & Document Management System for Learning & Driving License

Port Blair, Oct. 27: The A & N Administration has been continuously taking many proactive initiatives towards faceless transactions to bring more transparency and improve ease of doing business.  Recently Transport Department has implemented online applications i.e., Sarathi 4.0 and Vahan 4.0 in which process upto fee payment for all the transactions related to Driving License and Registration of Vehicles were already made online.  The transactions including slot booking of Annual Fitness for commercial has been made completely online on 26.07.2021.   With that, the vehicle owners do not need to visit office except to bring their vehicle for inspection. 

Port Blair, Oct. 27: The Non- Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, Andaman & Nicobar Islands have expressed serious concern over the unchecked spiralling prices of essential commodities in these islands.

Shri T.S.Sreekumar, General Secretary of the Association, in a letter addressed to the Secretary and Director (Civil Supplies) as well as the Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman District has invited their attention towards the uncontrolled price rise of various day to day essential items during the past few weeks.
