Port Blair, Aug.1: Thunderstorms, lightning & gusty wind (speed 40-50 kmph) is likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands on Aug. 2 & 3, 2023.  Due to strong monsoon current, wind speed exceeding 45 kmph is likely to prevail over Andaman Sea and neighborhood. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till Aug.3.

Port Blair, Aug. 1: The vessel MV Swarajdweep which sailed from Chennai is expected to arrive at Port Blair on Aug. 3, 2023 at 1800 hrs. She has on board 117 passengers, 264 metric tons of cargo and 22 containers. On arrival, the vessel will be berthed at Haddo Wharf and passengers will be disembarked immediately, a press release from Assistant Director (Commercial) received here said.

Port Blair, July 31: Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament of Andaman & Nicobar Islands has deeply mourned the sad demise of former Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Vakkom Purushuthaman.

As per details, Shri. Vakkom Purushuthaman passed away due to age-related illness at Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. He was 95.

Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.) has condoled the death of Shri Vakkom Purushothaman (95), former Lt.  Governor of A&N Islands, who died at Kumarapuram, Thiruvananthapuram- 11 on 31.07.2023.
