Port Blair, Aug 19: The District Child Protection Unit, South Andaman celebrated the Festival of Janmashtami with the children of Balika Niketan (Child Care Institution) on 19th August 2022 at Balika Niketan, Attam Pahar. 

Port Blair, Aug 19: The UT Commission for Protection of Child Rights (UTCPCR) is a statutory body functioning in the Islands to look into matters related to safeguarding child rights, safety, security and well-being of children and proper implementation of laws related to children specially POCSO Act (2012), JJ Act 2015, and Right to Education Act 2009.

Port Blair, Aug. 19: Eleven positive cases have been detected today in A&N Islands. Today, 9 flights with 1280 passengers arrived, out of which, 1157 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 19 passengers and the reports are awaited.  

Port Blair, Aug. 19: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,95,044 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23,932 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years. 27, 807 beneficiaries in the age group of 12 to 14 years have been administered both doses of vaccine. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 1,91,865.

Port Blair, Aug 18: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma today called on the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and raised five crucial issues related to welfare of people of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Raising the first issue, the Member of Parliament requested to grant one-time age relaxation of five years to all candidates, who have crossed the age limit for government jobs so that they can also apply for various posts notified by the Administration on 01/08/2022 for recruitment.
