Deeply pained to know that the Nightingale of India Lata Mangeshkar has passed away. With a career spanning eight decades she has touched the heart of every Indian with her melodious voice in various languages. I convey my heartfelt condolences to her family and fans.

Intensive survey carried out in all Industrial Estates located in A&N Islands under the direction of Chief Secretary
Port Blair, Feb. 4: The Andaman & Nicobar Administration has setup Industrial Estates at various locations in A&N Islands to encourage growth of MSME’s and other Industrial establishments in the Islands. Under this initiative, the Directorate of Industries has allotted space to various units both in Manufacturing and Service sectors on lease basis.
Under the active leadership of the Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain, the Department of Industries is maintaining zero tolerance to violations inside Industrial Estates and is carrying out verification from time to time through inspections for identifying such violations, and strict actions are being taken against violators.

Port Blair, Feb. 4: The Steering Committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain deliberated on the Annual Plan of Operation (APO) proposed for the year 2022-23 during the meeting held on Feb.2, 2022 in the Conference Hall of Secretariat and approved the activities worth of Rs. 15.89 crores to be taken up by the Department of Environment & Forests under CAMPA for the year 2022-23. The Department acknowledges the guidance, support and directions provided by the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration in formulating the APO with several new and key activities.

Port Blair, Feb 4: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration to direct the RTO and Traffic Police units to treat Auto Rickshaw drivers and owners in the most sympathetic manner as per the norms.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that all Auto Unions under the banner of a Joint Action Committee have been staging protests since the last two days alleging harassment and excessive Challan by RTO and Traffic Police.

Port Blair, Feb.4: Consequent on approval accorded by Competent Authority, Classes for Std. VI, VII , VIII & IX in all management (Govt., Govt. Aided, Private Unaided and Local Body) schools across Islands will reopen on alternate day basis with effect from 8th February, 2022 subject to certain conditions. All educational institutions have been directed to follow all COVID protocol and ensure COVID Appropriate Behavior.
