Port Blair, Feb. 25: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 304 passengers who arrived here yesterday, one positive case has been detected. Today, 12 flights with 1744 passengers arrived, out of which, 1492 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 222 passengers (8 foreign travellers) and the reports are awaited. 

Port Blair, Feb. 25: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,07,372 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 23,178 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 8563.

Chief Secretary directs DSS to Resume Line Boat Services from 25th Feb

Port Blair, Feb. 23: The Andaman & Nicobar Administration is persistently receiving demands from the residents of Middle Andaman, Shaheed Dweep and Swaraj Dweep, to restore the services of Line Boat services to Rangat from Port Blair as per pre COVID time. Earlier, the Directorate of Shipping Service use to deploy its speed vessels regularly to Rangat via connecting nearby intervening Island, however, from last one year due to resurgence of COVID situation in these Islands, this service has been suspended.

Kuldeep Rai Sharma Shortlisted for ‘Sansad Ratna’ Award for His Performance in 17th Lok Sabha

Port Blair, Feb 23: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has been shortlisted by a jury nominated by Prime Point Foundation for ‘Sansad Ratna’ Award 2022 for his commendable performance during the 17th Lok Sabha. This comes as a proud moment for the islanders as it is the first time ever that any Member of Parliament representing Andaman & Nicobar Islands has been recognized and awarded for their performance in the Lok Sabha.

Port Blair, Feb 23: This year Andaman & Nicobar Islands has been ranked at 15th position on pan India basis in the GREAT BACKYARD BIRD COUNT & CAMPUS BIRD COUNT 2022 international event. GBBC & CBC is an event organised by Bird Count India and coordinated in this UT by the Andaman Avians Club Team.

This year the event has seen a very enthusiastic participation from club birders and many across the Islands.
