Airline Operators Asked to Ensure Mandatory RAT Test for All Incoming Passengers

Port Blair, April 15: The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District, Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS and Shri. Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District convened a meeting with all the Airline Operators of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and stressed the need to take urgent action to curb the surge of COVID cases in the District. It was briefed that strict and vigilant protocols are required at the Veer Savarkar International Airport.

Port Blair, April 15: About 5488 beneficiaries were vaccinated in 36 sessions and by about 85 teams in the entire UT on 1504.2021.

To have more positive connotation to the vaccination drive the A&N Administration has sent MV Kalighat Ship to Southern group of islands with a Medical Team from DHS on board under the leadership of Dr Ganesh Samaddar, CMO, NFSG. The team will vaccinate all the eligible passengers on board in both onward and return journey with COVID19 vaccine.

Port Blair, April 15: The Andaman & Nicobar Cricket Association has recently concluded a 45-day cricket coaching camp, in which a total of 80 boys participated within the ages of 13-19. The boys were not only from Port Blair but also from rural areas of South Andaman viz. Bamboo flat, Wimberlygunj etc. The coaching was conducted by Shri Nazar Raheem, from Kolkata who is BCCI accredited and a trained A level coach.

Port Blair, April 15: The A&N Administration has appealed to the people of the Islands to get vaccinated and also sought the cooperation of citizens to spot the unvaccinated persons aged 45+. Addressing a press conference, the Secretary IP&T, Shri Sunil Kumar Singh said that efforts are on to ensure that no eligible persons are left out  in  this vaccination drive. “Presently our aim is to cover 100 percent people aged 45+ so as to ensure that no one is left under this age group,” the Secretary said. To achieve this target, he mentioned that people’s cooperation is needed and they can inform about any persons who falls under the age group and has not been vaccinated through WhatsApp/dial mobile no.9474287574.
