Sri Vijaya Puarm, Nov. 26: Islanders Social Movement in Awareness & Training (ISMAT), an all-women led NGO, celebrated International Children's Day by organizing a health camp for orphanages of our islands.

The event, held at the Islamic Guidance Centre (IGC) in Goalghar, Sri Vijayapuram, brought together children and staff of orphanages providing them with free health check-ups and consultations. The camp aimed to promote health awareness and provide medical assistance to underprivileged children.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 26: A meeting of the CPI (M) party workers and sympathizers was held on 23rd November 2024 to form the Reception Committee for the successful conduct of the 12th Andaman & Nicobar State Conference of CPI (M) scheduled to be held on 28 – 29 December, 2024. 

Addressing the meeting, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee, who presided over the meeting, said that the CPI (M) is conducting Conferences of its units from Branch Conferences to State Conferences all over the country as per the schedule announced.  He said that 24th Party Congress of the CPI (M) will be held from 2nd to 6th April, 2024 at Madurai, Tamil Nadu.

Zubin Bhatnagar, VSM, ADG, Recruiting, Directorate General of Recruiting-Indian Army during his visit to A&N Islands for the Army Recruitment Rally Agniveer at Sri Vijaya Puram called on Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency today at Raj Niwas. He apprised the Hon’ble Lt. Governor that the rally being conducted by Recruiting Office (HQ) Chennai from November 26th to 30th has witnessed increased participation compared to last year.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 26: In order to provide financial relief and revive the family from distress, the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman has sanctioned an ex-gratia relief amounting to Rs 1,25,000 /-(Rupees One Lakh Twenty Five Thousand Only) for Smti Sunaina Soni whose house was damaged due to Fire Incident at School Line village on 22.03.2024. This financial assistance is part of the support provided under the norms of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) to help individuals affected by natural disasters.
