Port Blair, June 27: In a letter to the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman the Executive Engineer, SAD, APWD has informed that the construction of culvert at Dairy Farm Junction is over. The road above the culvert is prepared and ready for allowing the light motor vehicles, till the laying of final layer of the road surface for settlement of the earth embankment.

Port Blair, June 27: The Gaytri Chetna Kendra, Port Blair distributed 50 ration kits to the needy family at Mithakari Basti, near Shri Krisna Mandir Mithakhari. As all Temples are closed and no religious programmes are done, it's been difficult time for the Brahmins. The ration kits were distributed to few of the Brahmanis on the way.

Islanders Enthusiastically Participate in Vaccination Drive Across the Islands

Port Blair, June 25: People in the age group of 18-44 years are responding enthusiastically to the vaccination drive being conducted in various parts of the Islands.    This is evident from the data of vaccinated persons on daily basis, said the Secretary, IP&T, Shri Sunil Kumar Singh while addressing a COVID-19 media briefing held in the conference hall of IP&T today. The Secretary further informed that 20 Vaccination Centres are functioning covering the length and breadth of the Islands. He also disclosed that as per the need, the number of Vaccination Centres will be increased.  He further stated that COVID cases are coming down and it is good sign.

Port Blair, June 25: In a swift response and deftly coordinated SAR operation, Indian Coast Guard rescued 09 crew from sinking vessel Ganga-I off Cinque Island on 23 Jun. The Search and Rescue (SAR) operation was carried out in coordination with Port Management Board (PMB), Port Blair wherein ICG ships and PMB Tug ‘Ocean Marvel’ were deployed for SAR response. 

District Administration Distributes Kits to Needy Children

Port Blair, June 25: The South Andaman District Administration in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic has taken various actions to strengthen the healthcare facilities in order to provide better care to the patients and also ensure the welfare of the children who have lost their parents due to COVID-19.
