Four Corona Positive Cases Detected In Spite of Carrying Negative RT-PCR
Port Blair, June 15: The Secretary (IP&T), Shri Sunil Kumar Singh today said that there is no shortage of essential commodities in A&N Islands. It is also being ensured that there is no shortage of cooking gas and its availability throughout the islands is constantly being monitored. The Secretary also said that price capping of the vegetables is also monitored continuously and it is ensured that the prices do not go beyond the fixed price.

Port Blair, June 15: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma today met the Secretary, APWD at his office and discussed major water projects proposed in the islands. He informed the Secretary about the difficulties faced by the residents due to the water crisis particularly during the dry season. The MP requested the Secretary, APWD for completing the repair works of pipelines damaged due to the Dairy Farm Culvert Project.

Port Blair, June 15: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per the data received from Health Department, a total of 1, 33, 595 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. A total of 1053 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands while the number of eligible people vaccinated in the age group of 18 to 44 years stood at 14, 029 in isles. 636 beneficiaries were vaccinated in South Andaman District, out of which, 572 were in the age group of 18-44 years. In N&M Andaman, 310 beneficiaries were vaccinated, out of which 299 were in the age group of 18-44 years while the remaining were above 45. In Nicobar District, 107 beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 years were vaccinated.

Port Blair, June 15: The White Esprit, International Culture Review & Publisher has selected as many as ten artworks of Islands’ enthusiastic Teacher and Nature Lover Shri Chanchal Singha Roy for a solo exhibition in an online platform. The selection of the art works of Roy is a proud moment for the islanders as the Teacher by profession, he has been a role model to hundreds of students especially those hailing from the remote rural areas of the Islands.

Port Blair, June 15: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma today felicitated the corpse-burners by presenting shawls and sweets. On the occasion the MP lauded their efforts and said “corpse burning is one of the most difficult work you people have been doing”. The task of burning a corpse is an arduous work as sometimes, the corpse-burners have to work for 10 to 15 hours burning several bodies in the same day.
