Port Blair, Oct. 20: An information was received by Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, SHO, PS Central Crime Station as per which 02 two persons one male & one female of West Bengal, Kolkata were to arrive at Port Blair from Kolkata by Indian Airlines flight on 18/10/2020. They were to carry a large quantity of ganja for delivering to one Rajesh Kumar Bepari at Dollygunj. The same was conveyed to Dy. SP (CID) and on his direction a team comprising Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, SHO, PS CCS, ASI Vijay Shankar, Head Constable Shibani Biswas, Constable K. Rajendran, Raja Rao, Mohd. Imran and Hari Krishna Yadav was formed which rushed to Dollygunj and waited for arrival of accused persons.

Port Blair, Oct. 20: Durga Puja will be celebrated at Atul Smriti Samiti (Bengali Club), Port Blair from 22nd Oct. 2020 to 25th Oct. 2020. In view of COVID-19 pandemic situation, the Managing Committee of Bengali Club has to allow restricted entry of general public only for Darshan Pratima.

Briefs Media about COVID-19 Status in A&N Islands
Port Blair, Oct. 19: The Government of India has completely banned illegal import of fire crackers in India. Any kind of sale of imported fire crackers will not be allowed, said the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS in a meeting held with the firecracker vendors today at the conference hall of the DC Office.
Anchipaka also called upon the islanders to report on any such sale of imported firecrackers by any of the vendors. Islanders may call up the DC Control Room over toll free number 1070 to report any such sale.

It give me immense sense of pride to know that the Andaman & Nicobar Police department is observing Police Flag Day on 21st October to pay tribute to the brave policemen who have given the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. Port Blair, Oct. 19: The Revenue Department of South Andaman District carried out eviction drives against encroachments committed over Government land in South Andaman District during the month of August, September and October and restored an area of 169650 Sq. Mtrs of Government land into Government Khata. As a part of Zero Tolerance towards encroachment these eviction drives were conducted in various villages of Port Blair, Ferrargunj and Little Andaman Tehsils.
