Port Blair, Sept. 26: The public holiday declared vide the Administration’s Notification No. 110/2022 dated 25.10.2022 on Milad- un-Nabi will now be observed on Sept. 29, 2023 instead of Sept.28, based on the sighting of Moon as conveyed by the Chairman, A&N Hilal Committee.

The general public and Government Departments have been informed that the power supply will remain suspended at Sippighat, Nayasahar and Guptapara on Sept. 27 from 8 am to 5 pm in connection with cutting of road side trees by BSI at Nayasahar.

Port Blair, Sept. 25: The fourth edition ofTour of Andaman Edition; was officially launched from the historic Cellular Jail at 7:30 AM on 24th September 2023. The event was flagged off by Commander Coast Guard Andaman Nicobar, IG Shri Bhisham Sharma, marking the beginning of an extraordinary cycling odyssey. This journey will pass through some of the captivating locations, including Chidiyatapu, Mount Manipur, Shoal Bay, Jirkatang, Baratang, Rangat, Mayabunder, Ross & Smith Island and finally ending at Diglipur.

Port Blair, Sept. 25: With a vision to create a chess culture and community that enriches the lives of the islanders and also as a part of the “Rehabilitation and Chess” programme, Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) in association with District Prison Prothrapur initiated Chess training classes for the inmates of District Prison Prothrapur on 23rd September 2023 in the Jail premises.
