Port Blair, Sept. 9: The State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Ajoy Bairagi is on an official visit to North and Middle Andaman. Bairagi will first halt at Diglipur for a few days after which he will undertake visits to other areas of North & Middle Andaman viz. Rangat and Mayabunder. During his visit, the BJP State President will interact with the general public. The General Public has been requested to contact their local BJP unit to know he schedule of the visit of the State President.

Port Blair, Sept. 8: The A&N Administration is fully committed for the wellbeing of its tribes and the safety of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups. It is to inform that all the 11 Great Andamanese tribals who tested COVID-19 positive earlier, have now fully recovered.

Member of Parliament Takes Up Genuine Problems Faced by Students with Appropriate Authorities
Port Blair, Sept 8: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma had met Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Education), A&N Administration Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS on 07.09.2020 and appraised him about the problems of college students of JNRM and ANCOL residing at different Islands of North & Middle Andaman, Swaraj Dweep, Saheed Dweep, Little Andaman, Nicobar district etc. for attending their Under Graduation and Post Graduations final year examinations scheduled to be held from 14th September, 2020 onwards at Port Blair.

Kamorta, Sept. 8: As many as six corona positive cases have been confirmed in the tribal belt of Central Nicobars. According to sources, the Assistant Commissioner and his spouse, Chief of Tribal Council, a staff of Assistant Commissioner’s office and a villager from Chota Enaka village have tested positive. Earlier one case of COVID-19 was shifted to Port Blair for treatment, making it a total of six confirmed cases.

Port Blair, Sept. 8: At a simple function held at the conference hall of the PBMC headquarters, the Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council facilitated the winners of the 1st ASIAN ITO VIRTUL CHAMPIONSHIIP TANG SOO DO held at Iran (through virtual video). As many as 12 countries participated in the event. Altogether 54 students participated in the event representing India out of which 10 students were from the Islands and the Indian team won the Championship.
