Port Blair, Sept. 2: The last date for fresh admission for July 2024 cycle for all Programmes for online/ODL mode (except for Semester based and Certificate programmes) extends by IGNOU till 10th September 2024. The last date of July, 2024 Re-registration has also been approved till 10th September 2024 for all programmes offered in ODL/Online mode.
For online admission, students are advised to log on to https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/ and for Re-registration log on to https://onlinerr.ignou.ac.in/. The prospective applicants who are facing difficulty to submit their admission and Registration form through online mode can contact to Regional Centre office.

Mayabunder, Sept. 2: In a step towards enhancing educational resources and opportunities for students of GSS, Chainpur, a new building for Vocational Educational IT Lab and Art/Craft Room was inaugurated under Samagra Shiksha, Department of Education by Shri Suresh Chandra Mazumder, Deputy Education Officer, Mayabunder on Aug.31, 2024. Port Blair, Sept. 2: The vessel MV Kalighat will sail for Diglipur on Sept.4 at 2000 hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail back to Port Blair on Sept.5 at 2000 hrs from Diglipur. Passengers may book their tickets for the above sailing from DSS e-ticketing portal (https://dss.andaman.gov.in/eticketing) and STARS Ticketing Counter from Sept.3, 2024 onwards.

Port Blair, Sept. 2: Heavy rain (07-11cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands on Sept. 3, 4 & 5. Squally weather with surface wind speed reaching 35-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph is very likely to be along & off A&N coast. Sea condition is also likely to be rough to very rough. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea along and off A&N coast from Sept. 4 to 6.

Port Blair, Aug 31: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee has registered an FIR against BJP M.P Shri. Bishnu Pada Ray for using derogatory, unparliamentary and disgraceful words against the Leader of Opposition, Lok Sabha, Shri. Rahul Gandhi and promoting enmity based on religion during a public meeting held at Basantipur, N&M Andaman.
