Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 25: On September 25, 2024, the 67th Police Constable Batch of the Andaman & Nicobar Police donated a substantial amount of Rs. 57,000/- (Fifty-Seven Thousand Rupees Only) towards the treatment of a woman who was involved in a tragic accident on VIP Road near Police Line area, where she lost her elder daughter and her infant in the womb. Her treatment is currently underway at G.B. Pant Hospital in Sri Vijayapuram, and she will be going to Chennai for further care.

Ograbraj, Sept. 25: On September 24, 2024, a swift and successful operation by PS Ograbraj led to the seizure of a substantial quantity of illegal liquor in the Chouldari area. HC Ashok Roy, accompanied by PC Martin and HG  B. Thamma Rao, during their beat patrolling received a tip-off about an individual attempting to sell illicit liquor in the region.

Acting on the information, the team, including HC Sumati Kumari, moved swiftly to Chouldari near Swadesh Agro Farm. There, they spotted a suspicious motorcycle Hero Ignitor bearing regn. No. AN01-L-2566 approaching from the market. Upon stopping the rider for inspection, they discovered a bag containing 24 sealed bottles of 375 ml IMFL (Indian Made Foreign Liquor), specifically Bagpiper Deluxe Supreme Whiskey.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 25: IGNOU Regional Centre Port Blair (Sri Vijay Puram) has informed the learners that the maximum validity of the learners registered for BDP (BA/BSC/BCOM) Programme in January 2019 session is going to be completed in December 2024. The Student Evaluation Division (SED), IGNOU will be conducting the final examination for all the eligible learners of BDP (BA/BSC/BCOM) Programme registered in January, 2019 in December 2024 Term End Examination (TEE). No TEE for BDP learners will be conducted after December 2024.
