Port Blair, April 9: The A&N Administration will also be celebrating the ‘Teeka Utsav’ from April 11 to 14, 2021 across these Islands to carry out intensive COVID-19 vaccination drive. In this regard, COVID Vaccination Centers have been opened across the Islands, with a view to reduce the movement of the beneficiaries to long distances.

People who are above 45 years of age i.e. who are born before 01.01.1977 are eligible to take the vaccine in the nearest centers. The vaccination sites are at JNRM, Port Blair, PHC Garacharama, Community Hall Chouldari, PHC Ferrargunj, CHC Bambooflat, PHC Baratang, PHC Kadamtala, CHC Rangat, PHC Billiground, Dr. RP Hospital Mayabunder, CHC Diglipur, PHC Radhanagar, PHC Kalighat, PHC Swaraj Dweep, PHC Shaheed Dweep, PHC Hutbay, PHC RK Pur, BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar, CHC Nancowry, PHC Teressa, PHC Katchal, and PHC Campbell Bay. If required additional booths will be opened in addition to the above.

The Hon’ble Prime Minister has urged to observe ‘VACCINATION FESTIVAL’- ‘TIKA UTSAV’ between April 11-14 to inoculate a maximum number of eligible beneficiaries against COVID-19. The ‘TIKA UTSAV' will be observed in the entire territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands starting from Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Ji's Jayanti on 11th April , 2021 to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Ji's Jayanti on 14th April, 2021, giving vaccination to all the eligible beneficiaries of these Islands.

Port Blair, April 9: The Andaman Association of Tour Operators has expressed its gratitude towards the Secretary Tourism and Director Tourism for considering the request of the association to increase the number of shows for Sound and Light Show at Cellular Jail from the existing number of two shows to three shows daily.

DNA to Strive for the Welfare of Working Journalists Associated with Daily Publications

Port Blair, April 8: The maiden meeting of the proposed Daily Newspaper Association (DNA), A&N Islands was held at a prominent hotel in the city on Thursday. Editors and journalists associated with leading dailies viz. The Andaman Express (English & Hindi), Andaman Sheekha, Andaman Chronicle, The Phoenix Post, Aspect, The Echo of India, Info India, Sagar, Andaman Kural, Arthik Lipi, Sangmarg attended the meeting. Various problems faced by the daily newspapers were discussed in detail.
