Port Blair, June 6: The Institution of Engineers (India) – Andaman and Nicobar State Centre shall be organizing a Technical Lecture on “Repair and Rehabilitation of Structures” on Wednesday, 08th June, 2022 at 4:00 pm in ALHW Conference Hall. The Speaker would be Er. A. K. Sinha & Er. Divya G from Pidilite Industries. All the Engineering Fraternity and interested persons are requested to attend the Technical Lecture.

Port Blair, June 6: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,81,941 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23,545 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 yrs. and 12,742 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 yrs. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 25688.

The State President, Hindu Rashtra Shakti, Andaman Unit, Mr Rakeshwar Lall has expressed deep anguish on the sudden demise of Mrs PL. Thiruvandal 65, M/o P.L. Annadurai and W/o Shri S.A. Palaniappan who expired at home town Sevaloor, Pudukkottai District Tamil Nadu. HRS prayed to the Almighty to give eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family members to bear the irreparable loss.

Port Blair, June 6: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 212 passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 14 flights with 2183 passengers arrived, out of which, 1904 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 220 passengers and the reports are awaited.

Port Blair, June 5: The Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways and Civil Aviation, GoI, General (Dr.) VK Singh (Retd.), has described A&N Islands as a place where people from different parts of the country live in perfect peace and harmony. Addressing the gathering in the ‘Labharathi Sammelan’, organized to commemorate the completion of 8 years of Modi Government, by the A&N Bharatiya Janata Party in the Community Hall, Chouldari today, the Minister, who arrived here today on a three-day visit, stated that the Central Government under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has brought many social welfare schemes for uplifting the living conditions of the poor people. Mentioning some of the schemes viz. PM Ujjawala Yojana, Mudra Yojana, PM KISSAN, PM Awas Yojana, the Minister said these schemes have brought great relief to poor people. The aim of devising these social welfare schemes is to provide relief to the last mile beneficiaries, he said.
